Genealogy.com Releases Phase Four Its Latest of its Internet Family Archives
12 New Titles Offer Information on Over 24.5 Million People from Immigration Lists,
Census Records and Historical Publications
November 2, 2000 (FREMONT, CALIFORNIA) Genealogy.com, LLC today announced the addition
of 12 more titles to its popular Internet Family Archives, making it even easier
for people to quickly locate their ancestors on the Internet. And, for the first
time, all Internet Family Archive titles – even those containing digitized grayscale
images – can be viewed by both PC and Macintosh computers, regardless of which
family tree application software is being used. With the release of Phase
Four, the Internet Family Archives collection now holds over 24.5 million names,
in 35 different titles. Here at one's fingertips, sits a bounty of historical
resources for discovering family history.
"The wealth of information has grown tremendously with the addition of
these 12 new titles to the Internet Family Archives," said Genealogy.com
CEO, Rob Armstrong. "People new to genealogy research will find it even
easier to research their family history, while our existing customers now can
search longer time periods and broader geographical areas, as well as having
access to expanded immigration and census data."
Get Access Instantly
Internet Family Archives make it easier and more convenient to trace family
history from any Internet-connected computer, at home or away. There is no longer
a need to travel to faraway libraries and dusty government archives to trace
family histories. Ancestors are just a few clicks away at http://www.genealogy.com/ifa/co_main.html,
where enthusiasts can search by name within a growing collection of online databases.
As access to specific reference titles is purchased, records are kept in an
individual's own online data library – a personal collection of genealogical
databases that can be viewed at any time via the Internet. Now, a personal library
can contain even more of Genealogy.com's best-selling titles, including two
new 1900 census projects, along with World Family Tree and GenealogyLibrary.com.
The Internet Family Archives are composed of a variety of family history information
from historical census data to indexed page images of the leading genealogy
research publications of the 17th, 18th and 19th
centuries. Included in this round of new titles for Internet Family Archives
is Ohio and Pennsylvania 1900 census microfilm images, the only single data
source designed to record everyone living in the respective states in 1900.
The new Internet Family Archive collection also includes information from Revolutionary
War pension lists, as well as volumes of family history articles from Virginia,
Pennsylvania, the colonial period and the South. Now, all this research can
be done in the comfort of home, 24 hours a day. With access to the Internet
Family Archives, users are able to create their own personal "online data
library" with records stored on Genealogy.com's secure network.
