Genealogy.com Announces Affiliate Program
Plan Offers 10% Commission
on Each Sale Generated by Participating Sites
December 14, 2000 (FREMONT, CALIFORNIA) Genealogy.com, LLC, the leader in the genealogy
arena on the Web, today announced its new Affiliate Program, a marketing initiative
designed to drive new traffic to the Genealogy.com site and add incremental
revenue. The program offers incentives to complementary Web sites placing links
to Genealogy.com on their sites. The new program pays a 10 percent commission
for each sale generated by Affiliate Program subscribers. To oversee and track
the program, Genealogy.com has partnered with Commission Junction, a leading
affiliate program manager.
"This is a true win-win proposition," said Lisa de Jong, manager
of Genealogy.com's Affiliate Program. "The newly-designed Genealogy.com
site is uniquely attractive to web site owners in that it offers popular, market-leading
products, specialized services and a rapidly growing category. With over 80
million Americans actively involved in tracing their family history, genealogy
is the second-largest hobby in the U.S., fueled by the large number of Baby
Boomers entering their 40s and 50s. We expect our exceptional Affiliate Program
to extend the reach of Genealogy.com, as well as generate revenue for us and
our partners."
All of Genealogy.com's exceptional products are included in the Genealogy.com
Affiliates Program, including Family Tree Maker(r), the #1-selling family tree
software, and GenealogyLibrary.com, the fastest-growing online genealogy
subscription site. Once a Web site joins the program and Genealogy.com links
are added to the partner site, traffic is automatically tracked, earning a 10%
commission for each sale generated by the site. Interested Web site owners should
go to http://www.genealogy.com/aff-info.html
to learn more about the program and become an affiliate.
